31. ŘÍJNA 2006: PRVNÍ PROMÍTÁNÍ ANGLICKÉ VERZE 'COMING SOON'
We put a lot of effort into the international version of the film and we were curious to see how much of the original humor and atmosphere shines through the English voice-over. The Czechs have some of the darkest humor we've ever encountered and the fact that they were willing to embrace the film didn't tell us anything about foreign audiences. Thus, we decided to put together a test-screening of this version as a litmus test for foreign audiences.
We managed to find around twenty English speaking ex-pats for a special Halloween screening in Prague and they ended up reacting almost identically to our Czech audiences - including a lengthy post-screening discussion.
In all honesty, however, we weren't as happy with the voice-over as we were with the film itself and we decided to re-do about 20% of it. The final version will have its World Premiere at an appropriate international venue. Stay tuned for more details...
